Watch: Ohio State's Garrett Wilson makes circus catch in Fiesta Bowl

Ohio State freshman Garrett Wilson hauled in a leaping 22-yard catch during the Buckeyes' opening drive vs. Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.

Ohio State didn't walk away from its opening drive in the College Football Playoff semifinal Fiesta Bowl vs. Clemson with a touchdown.

The Buckeyes did, however, likely provide the highlight of the game.

Facing a first and 10 from the Tigers' 27-yard line, Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields dropped back before keying in on Garrett Wilson. The freshman wide receiver then proceeded to high point the ball over Clemson cornerback Derion Kendrick, completing a leaping, circus-like catch before falling to ground.

Although the pass was initially ruled incomplete as it appeared Wilson had landed out of bounds, a replay later revealed that the Austin, Texas, product's elbow landed in bounds, making the catch a completion.

Despite the advantageous field position, the Buckeyes were unable to get in the end zone after Garrett's catch gave them a first-and-goal from the Clemson 5-yard line. Instead, Ohio State had to settle for a 21-yard field goal from kicker Blake Haubeil, giving the Buckeyes an early 3-0 lead over the defending national champions.
