The 6-foot-4 all-state shooting guard signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Louisville, but both parties agreed to void the binding agreement in late March.
Hughes will join fellow Bulldogs’ star Willie Jackson, who signed an NLI with Missouri in November, on the hardwood for the Tigers. The Associated Press Division I all-state players led Garfield Heights to back-to-back state tournament appearances.

Hughes, who averaged 18 points per contest during the season, considered multiple high-major programs – including Ohio State – before ultimately picking Missouri and electing to continue to play with Jackson.
