CLEVELAND — We've reached the regional semifinals of the 2024 Ohio High School Athletic Association football playoffs, and 39 teams from WKYC's 17-county viewing area remain in the hunt for state championships across seven different divisions.

Unbeaten standouts like Mentor, Walsh Jesuit, Avon, and Kirtland have mostly barreled through the first two weeks of the postseason. There have also been a few Cinderella stories, such as 12th-seeded Lexington upsetting 4-seed Rocky River in Division III and No. 13 seed West Holmes earning a date with top-seeded St. Clairsville down in D-IV. In D-VII, 9-seed Cuyahoga Heights also shocked No. 1 Berlin Center Western Reserve.

The third round will begin this Friday, with all matchups kicking off at 7 p.m. Games from here on out will be taking place at predetermined neutral sites.
