MENTOR, Ohio — One week removed from head coach Steve Trivisonno's 200th career win, the Mentor Cardinals refused to take their foot off the gas on homecoming night.
Mentor (5-0) raced out to a 42-0 halftime lead to dispatch Medina (3-2) 63-7 in a Greater Cleveland Conference showdown at Jerome T. Osborne Sr. Stadium.
Quarterback Ian Kipp, receiver and Boston College commit Luke Floriea, and running back Brian Trobel each found the end zone twice in the first half with Kipp tossing a pair of touchdown passes to Floriea.
Mentor, currently ranked as high as 11th in the national polls, will look to keep its unbeaten record alive at Solon (4-1) next week. Medina hopes to bounce back at Elyria (1-4).
