AURORA, Ohio — The term "announced their presence with authority" certainly applies here.
The Aurora Greenmen on Friday thoroughly dominated the Revere Minutemen 48-7 in WKYC.com's High School Football Game of the Week. The home team stayed unbeaten and clinched at least a share of a conference title thanks to a 34-point second quarter.
Aurora (9-0, 5-0 Suburban League American Division) led just 7-0 after one but began the onslaught after a 73-yard punt return touchdown by Ben Rogge. Quarterback Alex Moore had four TD passes (three to John Papesh) to open up a 41-0 halftime lead, bringing on a running clock in the second 24 minutes.
Not much went right for Revere (4-5, 2-4 American) on this night, and Matt Kostoff provided the only score in garbage time. The team's playoff hopes are still alive, but are now increasingly slim.
The Greenmen will host Copley next week as they try to wrap up an undefeated regular season, while the Minutemen will host a Bay team with postseason aspirations of its own.
