Wadsworth hammers Highland 42-20 in WKYC.com Game of the Week; Massillon routs St. Vincent-St. Mary

Check out all of the area scores from Friday night.

WADSWORTH, Ohio — The Wadsworth Grizzlies got off to as good a start to the new season as you could imagine, beating up on the Granger Highland Hornets 42-20 in WKYC.com's High School Football Game of the Week.

Senior running back Dom Loparo led the way, scoring five total touchdowns as Wadsworth rolled to a 42-6 halftime lead. His fellow captain Trey Shaffer had three TD passes by himself.

The highlight for Highland came in the second quarter, when Alex Jaworski hauled in a 58-yard scoring pass from Bryce Profitt to make it 21-6. However, that was as good as it got, as the Hornets struggled to move the football most of the night.

The victory is the 22nd consecutive in the regular season for the Grizzlies, who have positioned themselves as one of the best teams in Division II over the last couple of years. They will host Wooster next week, while the Hornets will head back home to take on Medina.
