3News has confirmed West Geauga High School head football coach Matt Rosati has been placed on leave and will not be coaching the team for at least Thursday night's game.
In a letter sent to parents and shared with us by athletic director Brandon Stewart, the school said it had "received an allegation of inappropriate conduct" involving the football program that "is of a non-sexual nature." Administrators are currently investigating the matter with players and staff, and "in the interim," assistant Eric Stendalen will serve as acting head coach.
"We will keep you informed as events unfold," the letter added.
Rosati has been a head coach in the Cleveland area for nearly 30 years, including 11 seasons during an initial sting at West G from 1996-2006. After 14 years at Perry in Lake County, he returned to lead the Wolverines prior to the 2022 campaign.
Per 3News media partner Cleveland.com, Rosati sports a career coaching record of 188-108, including an 8-19 mark since coming back to West Geauga. This year's Wolverines squad is 2-5 heading into tonight's home matchup against Lutheran West.
