Parma Senior High School junior softball player Andrea Scali has dominated in the circle this spring.

The Kent State University verbal commit has posted a perfect 16-0 record en route to leading the Redmen to a 21-1 mark and the Great Lakes Conference championship.

In 104 innings pitched, Scali has recorded 232 strikeouts without surrendering an earned run. The standout hurler has thrown three no-hitters.

“I have seen thousands of athletes perform over the past decade,” Parma athletic director Ryan Madison said. “I have seen no one with more of a fierce competitive drive than Andrea. In softball, she simply dominates her competition.”

At the plate, Scali boasts a .600 batting average. She has tallied 13 home runs and 38 RBIs.

“She is a true scholar-athlete who excels in the classroom while playing three varsity sports – volleyball, basketball and softball,” Madison said. “She has already lettered nine times, and we expect her to finish her career as a Redmen with 12 varsity letters, which is almost unheard of in this day and age of sports specialization.”

Parma defeated John Hay 18-0 in five innings on Tuesday to win a sectional tournament title. The Redmen will play St. Joseph Academy in a Division I Parma district tournament semifinal on Monday.
