Student-athlete Shout-out: Wooster Triway's Jacob Yoder

Triway High School senior bowler Jacob Yoder is one of Northeast Ohio's most decorated high school boys bowlers.

Channel 3 Sports is proud to continue its “Student-athlete Shout out” feature series during the 2015-16 school year. Each installment will spotlight the recent accomplishments of a deserving Northeast Ohio high school athlete.

Wooster Triway’s Jacob Yoder

Triway High School senior bowler Jacob Yoder is primed to compete in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II boys state tournament for the third consecutive season.

The three-time Stark County High School Bowling Conference National Division Bowler of the Year placed 11th at the state tournament as a sophomore and finished 12th as a junior.

This season, Yoder has won the individual championship at four high school tournaments – the Red and Blue Classic, the Nordonia Knights Classic, the Beast of the East Tournament and the Falcon Classic.

The accomplished amateur bowler recorded the second 300 game of his high school career in January.

Yoder placed sixth in series at the Division II Northeast sectional tournament at AMF Lanes in Medina on February 7 with a score of 585 to help the Titans finish first as a team and advance to the Bedford district tournament on Saturday.
