Justin Todd has been selected as Wadsworth High School’s next football coach, the school announced in a news release on Wednesday.

The hiring recommendation is expected to be approved by the Wadsworth City School District Board of Education during its regularly scheduled meeting on March 7.

“Mr. Todd will be a great addition to our Grizzly coaching family, our football program and our community overall,” Wadsworth athletic director Brad Musgrave said in the release. ”He has proven over time to be a phenomenal coach whose head coaching career has been filled with much success.”

Todd led Mount Vernon to a 5-5 record in his lone season at the helm of the Yellow Jackets’ gridiron program this past fall.

From 2012-14, Todd was the head coach at Loudonville and the Redbirds qualified for the playoffs each season. Todd was honored as a 2014 Associated Press Division VI Co-Coach of the Year.

Earlier in his career, the University of Mount Union alum served as an assistant coach at East Knox, Loudonville and Danville high schools.

Todd replaces Greg Dennison, who guided the Grizzlies for 21 seasons before resigning in November.

Wadsworth posted a 3-7 overall record and a 3-4 mark in Suburban League National Division play in 2015.
