CLEVELAND — Saturday's Outdoor Classic was hit with a lengthy delay on Saturday evening, but the Cleveland Monsters sent the home crowd at FirstEnergy Stadium home happy after a 3-2 overtime victory.
After falling behind 2-0 after the first period, the Monsters scored 3 unanswered goals including the decider in the overtime period.
The game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Officials made the decision to delay the game due to "increased sunshine within the past hour," resulting in unplayable ice conditions.
All fans with tickets to Saturday's game were allowed to stay inside the stadium or leave and re-enter.
