'Winning Youth Sports': 3News and Cleveland.com want to hear your stories

We're trying to give families the best advice on how to help their children succeed in athletics, not just in the box scores, but also physically and emotionally.

CLEVELAND — Youth sports have been a staple of both Northeast Ohio and America for as long as we can remember. While they provide us with a lifetime of cherished memories, youth athletics are also a source of difficulties for kids and parents alike.

Now, 3News and Cleveland.com want to hear your stories as we partner on a new series called, "How to win at youth sports (without going broke or breaking down)".

The concept is simple: We're trying to give families the best advice on how to help their children succeed in athletics, not just in the box scores, but also physically and emotionally. Topics will include:

  • An overall look at the current youth sports landscape.
  • How to best look after kids' health.
  • Examining the cost of youth sports and the options families have.
  • How to deal with kids' feelings both as parents and coaches during good and bad moments.
  • Answering frequently asked questions from our viewers.

The last bullet point is where you come in. We want to hear what questions you may have and listen to your experiences dealing with youth sports, both the fun times and the frustrating times. You can e-mail your ideas to youthsports@wkyc.com and we'll do our best to give you all of the tips you need.

"Winning Youth Sports" launches on Aug. 12 on both cleveland.com and 3News' platforms.
