On Saturday night, the John Carroll University Women's Soccer team defeated Ohio Northern University 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship, earning them an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.

The come-from-behind victory marked the team's second OAC Championship in program history and the team's first since 2001.

The third-seeded Ohio Northern got off to a fast start in Saturday night's game with Junior Alexa Clampitt netting a goal in the 24th minute. However, the top-seeded Blue Streaks responded with dominance in the second half.

John Carroll found an offensive spark when sophomore Emma West found the back of the net for the equalizer in the 73rd minute, tying the game 1-1.

With just three minutes left in the championship, the Blue Streaks continued to build off their momentum, with junior Madyson Rosado scoring her 12th goal this season, proving to be the game winning goal on Saturday evening.

The OAC Championship title came after a historic regular season for the Blue Streaks guided by head coach Michael Marich.

John Carroll finished with a regular season record of 12-1-4, and an 8-0-1 record in conference play. Their flawless regular season conference record also marked the first time in program's history they had not lost a game in conference play.

The Blue Streaks will learn their next opponent on Monday, Nov. 6, at 1:30 p.m. during the NCAA DIII women’s soccer selection show and bracket release. The selection show can be watched HERE.
