3News' Austin Love to throw out ceremonial first pitch at tonight's Cleveland Guardians game

3News' Austin Love will throw out the ceremonial first pitch as the Cleveland Guardians host the Minnesota Twins on June 28.

CLEVELAND — If there's one thing we know about Austin Love, it's that he's a big baseball guy.

So it's only right that the 3News reporter and anchor will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch when the Cleveland Guardians host the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday, June 28. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.

In preparation for Love's big moment on the mound, he stopped by Progressive Field to get some special training and expert advice from Slider the mascot.

Guardians assistant director of communications Austin Controulis made the announcement about Love being selected to throw the first pitch during an interview on GO! earlier this month.

Earlier this year, Love created a documentary titled "Changing of the Guardians: Cleveland baseball documentary on name change from Cleveland Indians," which followed the team's journey to its new name ahead of the 2022 MLB season.
