Watch: Cleveland Guardians' Shane Bieber crashing a neighborhood wiffle ball game is the feel-good moment of the summer

Shane Bieber's wife, Kara, took to social media to share the wholesome moment.

CLEVELAND — Shane Bieber is currently on the 60-day injured list as he continues to recover from an elbow injury.

But that hasn't stopped the Cleveland Guardians ace from making some memories for some local fans.

Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, Bieber's wife, Kara Maxine Bieber, shared a Reels video showing her and her husband driving home. While doing so, a kid on a bike notices the couple and enthusiastically calls for Shane to join their neighborhood wiffle ball game.

"We need you!" the kid can be heard yelling. "Come out, come out, come out!"

The 2020 American League Cy Young Award winner obliged, with Kara's video capturing him signing autographs, posing for pictures, and even using his un-injured arm to take a left-handed at-bat.

"We were on our way home from dinner when we saw a wiffle ball game," Kara wrote on Instagram "[and] then the most wholesome thing happened."

You can watch the feel-good moment -- set to Eric Church's "Springsteen" -- in the video below.

Bieber's viral moment comes amid a 2023 campaign that's largely been hampered by injuries. In 19 starts, the two-time All-Star has compiled a 5-6 record to go along with a 3.77 Earned Run Average and 95 strikeouts.

With one year remaining on his contract in Cleveland following the current season, many expected the 28-year-old Bieber to be the subject of rumors heading into the Aug. 1 MLB trade deadline. Bieber's current injury, however, makes it unlikely he'll be dealt in the coming days, with the Orange, California, native currently projected to return to big league action in September.
