Cleveland Guardians hosting 5th annual Giveathon on Wednesday: How you can help make a difference

Since 2019, the event has raised nearly $1,000,000 for the Cleveland Guardians charities.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Guardians are in the midst of a busy homestand, that kicked off against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Tonight, the homestand will continue with Cleveland Inspiries Week, featuring the annual Cleveland Guardians Giveathon. 

WKYC will broadcast Wednesday's 7:10 p.m. game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which serves as the 5th annual Cleveland Guardians Giveathon. 

Anyone who donates $100 or more during the broadcast will be eligible for an autographed baseball from a 2023 Guardians Player while supplies last.

Individuals who donate $500 or more during the broadcast will be eligible for a signed Jim Thome Hall of Fame Baseball while supplies last. 

Since 2019, the annual event has raised nearly $1,000,000 for Cleveland Guardians Charities. 

Curtis Danburg, vice president of communications and community impact for the Guardians, visited 3News last week to discuss the annual charity event. 

"We want to maintain and enhance baseball and softball, raise money for the kids to play baseball and softball, get new fields, and fully support the RBI program, which is what we are all about," said Danburg.
