CLEVELAND — Now we know why Cleveland Guardians star Shane Bieber wasn't at Guards Fest last weekend.
He was busy adding another accomplishment to his resume: marriage.
Bieber married his longtime girlfriend Kara Maxine Kavajecz, an entrepreneur and owner of her own fashion company.
The couple wed on the sunny shores of Malibu, California, just two hours away from the place they met when both attended the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).
The following is an excerpt from Kara's "about me" section on her business's website:
"I’m originally from Northern California—a beautiful, but very rural area. To give you a glimpse: I played basketball and volleyball, but when I wasn’t doing that, I was competing in rodeos and raising pigs for the county fair (who would’ve thought, right?). As much as I love my small town and the people in it, I always knew I wanted to see more, so after high school I moved to Santa Barbara for college. I’ve always had a passion for fashion and love creating different looks."
"THE BIEBERS. 1.21.23 the best day of our lives 🤍," Kara wrote on Instagram along with a picture of the newly-wedded couple.
Cleveland Guardians pitchers and catchers report to Goodyear, Arizona in three weeks. Bieber not only heads into the 2023 season as the leader of the Guardians' rotation in their defense of the AL Central division championship, but also as a married man!
