KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Baseball is back!
The Cleveland Guardians play the first game of the 2022 season under their new team name with Opening Day on the road against the Kansas City Royals this afternoon.
First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. Shane Bieber is on the mound for the Guardians.
The series against the Royals continues Saturday and Sunday before the Guardians travel to Cincinnati to battle the Reds next Tuesday and Wednesday.
But then... Baseball makes a comeback in Cleveland as the team starts a new era with their fresh name. The Guardians host their home opener next week as they battle the San Francisco Giants at Progressive Field on Friday, April 15. That game will air on WKYC as our expanded coverage begins at 3 p.m. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.
