NEW YORK — The American League Championship Series (ALCS) continues tonight with Game 2. The Cleveland Guardians are looking to even the series after dropping Game 1 to the New York Yankees.

PREVIEW

The Guardians come into Game 2 looking to even the series before they return home to Cleveland for games 3 and 4 -- and potentially Game 5 -- at Progressive Field.

Game 2 will feature a tough pitching matchup for the Guardians as Yankees' ace Cole takes the mound. Cole has a 11-2 record playing against the Guardians in his career (regular and postseason), with his most recent win against Cleveland coming on Aug. 22.

On the other hand, for the Guardians, it is essential that Bibee can get things set up for the bullpen. In Game 1, Alex Cobb, the veteran pitcher, was on the mound for under three innings, leading to bullpen troubles for the Guards.

One thing that should help the Guardians tonight is the fact that Cade Smith, Hunter Gaddis, Tim Herrin and Emmanuel Clase are all well-rested, having not played since Saturday's Game 5 against the Detroit Tigers.

If the Guardians want to even up this series, Bibee must play deeper into the game against this tough Yankees team.

On Monday, the Guardians seemed to lack offensive momentum, aside from Steven Kwan continuing his hit streak and Brayan Rocchio's solo home run in the 6th inning.

All eyes will be on third baseman José Ramírez to see if he can step up offensively in this star-studded series that features a Yankees team with many strong bats, including Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Giancarlo Stanton.

The Guardians/Yankees series winner will take on the winner of the National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.

That series is currently tied 1-1.
