CLEVELAND -- The All-Star Game is coming to Cleveland.
But currently, no Indians players are slated to take the field as members of the American League's starting lineup.
On Monday, Major League Baseball released its first standings of fan voting for the A.L. All-Star team. And while no Indians players are currently slated to make the cut for the team's top lineup, four Cleveland players have cracked the top 10 in their respective position groups, including first baseman Carlos Santana (fourth), shortstop Francisco Lindor (sixth), second baseman Jason Kipnis (10th) and catcher Roberto Perez (10th).

Under its new format, the current round of All-Star voting will continue until 4 p.m. ET on Friday, June 21, after which the top three vote-getters at each position (nine for the outfield) will take part in the inaugural 28-hour Starters Election period, slated to begin at 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 26. After the starters are announced at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 27, the remainder of the rosters -- which are determined via a group effort between the player ballot and the Commissioner's Office -- will be revealed on Sunday, June 30 at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Per MLB rules, one player from each of the 30 MLB teams must be elected to the All-Star Game.
Although Jose Ramirez has started at third base for the American League in each of the past two Midsummer Classics, it currently appears unlikely Cleveland will have a starter when it hosts the All-Star Game at Progressive Field on July 9. Santana, who lays claim to 250,615 votes, appears to be the Indians' best shot at getting a player selected as a starter although he trails Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu (286,145 votes) by a sizable margin for the third place primary cutoff.
Should the Indians not have a starter elected to the game, Santana, Lindor, starter Trevor Bauer and closer Brad Hand all figure to be candidates to represent Cleveland in the exhibition next month.
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout currently leads all American League players with a total of 951,002 votes. Fans are able to vote five times per day at Indians.com/vote as well as one time per day on Google.
