Cast your vote! Voting for the 2019 MLB All-Star Game is underway

Major League Baseball has debuted a new system for selecting the participants for the annual All-Star Game.

CLEVELAND — It is “Super Tuesday” in Major League Baseball.

Voting is underway for the 2019 MLB All-Star Game and league officials rolled out a new way of selecting the participants in the annual Mid-Summer Classic.

From 2 p.m./ET on Tuesday, May 28 to 4 p.m./ET on June 21, fans will vote in the “primary” election from a pool of candidates from each team, by position. The top three highest vote-getters at each position will be announced on June 21 on MLB Network.

“The Starters Election” will begin at noon/ET on June 26 and last for 28 hours. With results being cleared among the top three for “The Starters Election,” fans will cast the deciding votes for four infielders, three outfielders and catchers in both leagues.

The All-Star starters will be announced on an ESPN special at 7 p.m./ET on June 27.

Among Cleveland’s venues, Progressive Field (9.02 percent) had the ninth-lowest percentage of concessions issues in all of sports.

MLB is going digital-only for this vote.

Through a partnership between MLB and Google, fans can use multiple outlets to vote, including MLB.com and several MLB mobile apps.

The remaining roster spots and all of the pitchers will be chosen by a peer vote, as well as input from American League manager Alex Cora (Boston Red Sox) and National League skipper Dave Roberts (Los Angeles Dodgers).

MLB will announce the full rosters at 5:30 p.m./ET on June 30 on ESPN.

The 2019 MLB All-Star Game will be played at Progressive Field in Cleveland on Tuesday, July 9.

Other All-Star Game festivities, including The Futures Game and celebrity softball competition, as well as the Home Run Derby, will be featured at Progressive Field on Sunday, July 7 and Monday, July 8, respectively.
