CLEVELAND — Are you ready?
The Cleveland Guardians have released a pre-game hype video ahead of Friday's home opener against the Seattle Mariners at Progressive Field. The 74-second clip features a voiceover with rapper and Northeast Ohio native Kid Cudi along with a portion of his song Pursuit of Happiness.
"Remember when they said we were too young? Too inexperienced?" Cudi asks in the video. "What a difference a year makes. This is a new beginning. A clean slate. A fresh start. We know that small things add up. Hard work leads to greatness. This is just the beginning. This is the pursuit."
The clip comes to a close with a shot of the city skyline and one simple message: "Stand for the land."

"We are incredibly proud to have worked on this project with the accomplished rapper out of Shaker Heights, and thank Cudi for his support and celebration of the Cleveland Guardians," according to a statement from the team.
