CLEVELAND — If you've been watching Cleveland Indians games from home this summer, you've definitely noticed the cardboard cutout fans scattered throughout the seats.
But if you look a bit closer you might notice a special surprise within the crowd of faux faces.
Seriously... Look closer... Do you recognize anybody specific along the 3rd base line?
Two of the smiling cutouts you'll spot feature the faces of our own GO! morning personalities Dave Chudowsky and Austin Love. This all started a few weeks ago when Dave suggested the entire GO! team find a way to have their faces in the stands.
"My problem is, I know Austin would try to one-up me and sit right in front of me," Dave joked. "He's tall, and my cardboard cutout wouldn't be able to see."
Well, that's exactly what happened. Austin talked with the Tribe and surprised Dave with pictures of the cutouts inside Progressive Field during Tuesday morning's 6 a.m. show.
"Just a couple of guys being dudes, being cardboard cutouts watching the Indians," Austin joked during the big reveal.
After some good giggles about the whole thing, Dave was literally stunned by the surprise.
"That's a complete shock to me. I'm excited to have a cardboard cutout -- even if it's behind you and that hair. ... I'm speechless. I feel honored."
The Indians offered the fan cardboard cutout option earlier this season because fans haven't been permitted inside the ballpark due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns. The $100 option has since sold out.
