CLEVELAND — The start of the COVID-shortened Major League Baseball season is just two weeks away. It appears that Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor is in top form at the plate, and in just about every other aspect of his game.
Lindor hit a home run off of Mike Clevinger during Friday's intrasquad scrimmage game at Progressive Field. Impressive, right?
Wait until you see what Lindor did as he went around the bases and got to home plate! He executed a somersault-cartwheel, got back up, and headed back to the dugout. We give him at least a 9 for his form.
Clevinger was all smiles about Lindor's performance after the game.
"I told him (Lindor) in center field before the game, the only hittable fastball you'll ever see from me is going to be the first pitch of the AB (at-bat)," Clevinger told the media via video conference. "Only someone like Frankie can do that. It's magical, I mean he told me he was going to hit it if I threw it and he did. My hat's off to him. He's special."
