CLEVELAND — Get to know more about Adam Cimber as we go "Beyond the Dugout" with the Cleveland Indians reliever.
Question: First thought when you were traded to Cleveland?
Cimber: Excited to win! There was a lot of thoughts in that first hour, where I am going to live, what I am going to tell my wife or my fiancé at the time what were going to do about our wedding we had planned for October. When I saw the standings, well the Indians are up 10 games or whatever, we are going to the playoffs. I was like we have an October 20th, wedding, so we had to push that back to November, so that was a big one!
Question: Wow, we are really getting to know you now, how did she take that?
Cimber: I mean she was excited she’s like all-right let’s do it.
Question: That’s got-to be a mental grind?
Cimber: Yeah it was. It was something I wasn’t even think about to begin the year. We planned the wedding I was still in the Minor Leagues. It was a win, win. I mean that’s good reason to reschedule your wedding.
Question: Finally, you’re a tattoo guy, I see.
Cimber: Yeah, I’ve got a few.
Question: Wow, how many do you have?
Cimber: I haven’t counted recently but probably fifteen or sixteen.
Question: What’s your favorite one?
Cimber: My first one I think is still one of my favorites. GHAP (God has a plan). It’s what I write on the back of the mound every time I get up.
