He's the tender of the the biggest and most watched "lawn" in town. For the past 23 years, Cleveland Indians Head Groundskeeper Brandon Koehnke has watched over the 2.1 acres of field.

With a crew of about 25, he makes sure that the 80 home games played in Progressive Field will have a "winning" look from the ground up.

On Monday, the Indians open the 2016 season against Manager Terry Francona's for mer team -- the Boston Red Sox.

Koehnke, 51, has been on a baseball field for a long time. He played four years for the University of Central Florida and even spent a year with Boise in the Northwest League in 1987.

Back then, he was a "righty" for batting and throwing and played shortstop, second base and the outfield.

But now, he "plays" all over the field.
