Preview
What was supposed to be a pitchers' duel in Game 1 turned into anything but one as the Yankees offense was able to get to American League Cy Young Award frontrunner Shane Bieber early and often. Meanwhile, Cleveland's offense was only able to muster up two runs and as a result, the Indians find themselves on the brink of elimination.
If Cleveland is going to force a Game 3, it's going to need better pitching, defense and hitting than it received on Tuesday. With their season on the line, Carlos Carrasco (3-4, 2.91 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Indians with Masahiro Tanaka (3-3, 3.56 ERA) taking the mound for New York.
Prediction
It wouldn't be the postseason without a little of drama, right? The Yankees' hot streak on offense continues, but Cleveland's offense proves hotter and forces a winner-take-all Game 3 at Progressive Field on Thursday night.
Final score: Indians 8, Yankees 6
