CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians' scoreless streak had reached 15 innings.

Jose Ramirez ended the drought at an opportune time.

With the Indians engaged in a 0-0 matchup with the Texas Rangers in the bottom of the seventh on Wednesday, the 2-time All-Star third baseman launched an Ariel Jurado fastball 393 feet and -- most importantly -- over the right-field wall. With Carlos Santana already on first base following a single, Ramirez's 15th home run of the season gave the Indians a 2-0 lead and ultimately a win in their first of two matchups in Wednesday's doubleheader.

Cleveland starting pitcher Zach Plesac recorded six scoreless innings and seven strikeout, with reliever Zach Goody earning the win and closer Brad Hand recording his 28th save of the season. With the win, the Indians move to 67-46 on the year and now trail the Minnesota Twins by 3.0 games in the American League Central heading the second of Wednesday's two games.

After Logan Forsythe reached first on a 2-out single, he appeared poised so score on a Delino DeShields double to right field. Yasiel Puig, however, proceeded to launch the ball from the warning track to home plate, scaring off Forsythe before Zach Plesac forced Jose Trevino into a groundout to second to end the inning.

End of the first: Indians 0, Rangers 0

Three up, three down for the Tribe as Francisco Lindor, Oscar Mercado and Carlos Santana each go down in order.
