Recovering from a right calf strain that is expected to keep him sidelined for the next 7-to-9 weeks, Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor has found himself with more free time than he expected at the start of Spring Training.
So how did the 3-time All-Star opt to cure his boredom?
With hair dye, of course.
On Monday, the Indians held their first full-squad workout since reporting to Goodyear, Arizona. And while Lindor remains inactive, that didn't stop him from making a statement, as he revealed he has dyed his signature curls a bold shade of royal blue.
Asked about the rationale behind his new 'do, the 25-year-old Lindor was succinct.
"I was bored," he said through his signature smile.
This isn't the first time Lindor has switched up the look of his locks. Last year, the 2-time Silver Slugger showed up to Spring Training with bright silver hair, which earned him the nickname 'Sisqo' around the Cleveland clubhouse.
Lindor -- who also wore bright blonde hair at times last season and earlier this offseason -- hinted that his blue 'do might not be his final product. Seven-to-nine weeks can last longer than it seems. And if Lindor's boredom grows into anger in that span, you'll be able to tell by looking at his hair.
“I found blue and I haven’t done blue yet, so here I am," Lindor said. "I might do something crazy at some point. I don’t know. I’ll post something on social media at some point asking for any ideas. I might turn into Hulk and be green.”
