CLEVELAND — CLEVELAND (AP) Shane Bieber corrected some unusual early control issues to strike out 10 and Francisco Lindor hit a two-run homer to lead the Indians to a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins.
The Tribe evened the three-game series at 1-1 between the AL Central rivals. Bieber allowed two runs and four hits in six innings to improve to 6-0, the best record in the majors so far.
Cleveland (18-12) ended a four-game losing streak to Minnesota and pulled within 1 1/2 games of the division leaders. Lindor connected in the sixth when the Indians scored three times off reliever Jorge Alcala.
The two clubs will wrap up their series tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Mike Clevinger (1-1, 3.24 ERA) will make his first start for the Indians since being sent to their alternate training site after breaking COVID-19 protocol, while two-time All-Star Jose Berrios (2-3, 4.75) will go for the Twins.
