CLEVELAND — When the eyes of the world focus on Cleveland, you know that rock & roll music has to be involved somehow!
On Tuesday, Major League Baseball announced that Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will perform at the All-Star Sunday festivities at Progressive Field on July 7.
But that's not all.
Cleveland's own Welshly Arms will start the fun with a two-song set prior to the start of the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game at 5:00 p.m.
Following softball, the top Minor League prospects in baseball will be showcased for the 2019 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. Hall of Famer Jim Thome and four-time All-Star Dennis Martinez will serve as the managers for the game.
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will then perform a special set that includes the iconic rock classic “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll" before the night closes with the “All-Star Rock N’ Blast,” a special adaptation of the Indians award-winning annual fireworks and multimedia show. The immersive experience features nearly 20 minutes of music, fireworks and multimedia extending around the entire ballpark.
