Social media reacts to MLB owners approving season proposal plan which includes July start

CLEVELAND — Baseball is set to make a return. Now Major League Baseball and the Players' Union need to iron out the exact details.

According to multiple reports the two sides will meet on Tuesday to negotiate a return-to-play proposal which would have baseball making a return in home ballparks by July. On Monday, MLB owners approved the season proposal plan that will be put before the Major League Baseball Players Association.

While money is a main concern between owners and players, there are other logistics that need to be figured out, including exact start dates, schedules, an 82-game season, playoff expansion, a universal DH, a 30-man roster and more.

When the news broke on Monday that the owners approved the return-to-play proposal and would meet with the players to negotiate, social media was certainly buzzing with plenty of reactions to the news that this could be the start of baseball's return amid the coronavirus pandemic.
