CLEVELAND -- As the Cleveland Cavaliers attempt to complete their sweep of the Toronto Raptors, they have received an unlikely visitor in Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney.
The head coach of the 2016 national champion Tigers, Swinney could be spotted taking pictures of Cavs players from the stands as they warmed up prior to their Game 4 matchup with the Raptors on Monday night.
A native of Alabama, it's not immediately clear what Swinney's connection to either the Cavs or Raptors would be. And while it's possible he was coincidentally in talent-rich Northeast Ohio for recruiting purposes, it's worth noting that most of the area's top players in the 2019 class are already committed elsewhere.
That's not to say Swinney wouldn't be capable of persuading a player from the Buckeye State to come to Clemson. Earlier this year, he landed Ohio's top-ranked player, offensive tackle Jackson Carman, which marked just the second time since 2011 the Buckeye State's top player didn't wind up at Ohio State.
And unless it's through their shared Nike sponsorships, it's unlikely Swinney is in Cleveland as a guest of LeBron James. After all, the Cavs megastar is one of Ohio State's most famous fans.
But whatever the reason, Swinney is on hand for the Cavs' Game 4 showdown. Perhaps, like the rest of us, he just wants to witness greatness.
