Cleveland Cavaliers announce 2023 Summer League roster

The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced their roster for the upcoming NBA Summer League.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers have revealed their roster for the upcoming 2023 NBA Summer League -- and it includes a few familiar names.

This year, the Cavs' Summer League roster is headlined by swingman Emoni Bates, who was Cleveland's only draft pick in last week's 2023 NBA Draft. A former highly-rated recruit who once graced the cover of Sports Illustrated as a high school sophomore, the 6-foot-8 Bates saw his draft stock plummet over the course of a two-year college career that included stops at Memphis and Eastern Michigan before the Cavs selected him in the second round (No. 49 overall) of this year's draft.

Joining Bates on this year's roster will be a pair of players with family connections to Cleveland.

A 6-foot-11 forward who went undrafted out of North Carolina, Pete Nance is the son of former Cavs forward Larry Nance and brother of former Cavs/now New Orleans Pelicans forward Larry Nance Jr. Over the course of a four-year college career that included four seasons at Northwestern and one year at UNC, the Revere High School graduate averaged 9.7 points and 6.0 rebounds.

An undrafted guard out of Arizona, Cedric Henderson Jr. is the son of former Cavs small forward Cedric Henderson, who played for Cleveland from 1997-2001. In three seasons at Campbell and one at Arizona, the 6-foot-6 Henderson Jr. averaged 12.1 points per game, while shooting 37.6 percent from three-point range.

Also on this year's roster for Cleveland are a trio of 2022 second-round picks in forward/center Isaiah Mobley, center Khalifa Diop and forward Luke Travers, as well as current Cavs guard Sam Merrill. Cleveland's full 2023 Summer League roster can be found below:
