The Cleveland Cavaliers wasted no time in getting two of their 2022 draft picks signed to rookie deals today.
First round pick Ochai Agbaji has been signed to a standard rookie-scale contract and Isaiah Mobley was signed to a two-way deal.
Picked as the final player in the 2022 NBA Draft lottery selections, Ochai Agbaji had a celebrated 4 year college career highlighted by leading the Kansas Jayhawks to its fourth national championship in program history. While leading Kansas to a national championship, Agbaji was also named the 2022 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
While starting all 39 games in his senior season at Kansas, Agbaji averaged 18.8 points and 5.1 rebounds en route to being named a 2021-22 consensus All-American First Team selection and Big 12 Player of the Year.
You might recognize the last name of the second signee Isaiah Mobley. The brother of Cavs budding superstar Evan Mobley, Isaiah averaged 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds for the USC Trojans while starting 32 games this past season.
Both were named to the Cavaliers 2022 Summer League roster.
