CLEVELAND — On the eve of the Cleveland Cavaliers' season opener, Fox Sports Ohio will pay tribute to a member of the team's family.
Fox Sports Ohio will honor the late Fred McLeod, former Cavaliers play-by-play announcer, in a special show called "Fred McLeod – Calling the Shots." The program will air Tuesday at 8 p.m., and will re-air throughout the week.
The show will feature some of the Cavaliers' greatest moments called by McLeod, who died in September. Interviews with those who knew McLeod, including players, colleagues and friends will also air.
The team has also named the TV studio and media workroom at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse after McLeod.
The Cavaliers shifted former radio broadcaster John Michael to the lead television play-by-play announcer position and hired longtime WEOL commentator Tim Alcorn to take over the radio play-by-play duties.
The Cavaliers tip-off the 2019-20 NBA season in Orlando Wednesday at 7 p.m.
