In signing a four-year, $120 million contract extension on Tuesday, Kevin Love cemented his status as the new face of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hours after putting pen to paper, the old face of the Cavs -- LeBron James -- took to Twitter to congratulate his former teammate on the new deal.
Love didn't seem to mind James' ideas for dinner spots -- although he did take issue with having to pay the check. Replying in jest on Twitter, the 5-time All-Star noted that if the site of their celebration was in fact Nobu Malibu -- where an artichoke salad runs $24 -- they'd split the check.
After leading the Cavs to four straight NBA Finals from 2015-18, James and Love's time as teammates came to an end earlier this summer when James opted to sign a 4-year, $153.3 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. But rather than tearing its roster down in the absence of James, Cleveland will instead build around Love, who has averaged 17.1 points and 10.0 rebounds in his first four regular seasons as a member of the Cavs.
