CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers will open their 2022-23 season on Wednesday night when they face the Toronto Raptors on the road.
And once again, Cleveland is ready to "Let 'Em Know."
Hours ahead of tip-off in Toronto, the Cavs' official Twitter account posted a hype video for the team's upcoming campaign. The 51-second-long video includes highlights of various Cavs players from this past preseason and is punctuated with the team's slogan: "Let 'Em Know."
The Cavs first adopted the "Let 'Em Know" motto ahead of the 2021-22 campaign, with Cleveland proceeding to enjoy a breakout season, amassing a 44-38 record. The Cavs finished the season in eighth of the Eastern Conference before being eliminated by the Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks in the Play-In Tournament.
Cleveland enters this season with loftier expectations following the offseason acquisition of three-time All-Star Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz. In coming to Cleveland, the 26-year-old Mitchell joins All-Star point guard Darius Garland, All-Star center Jarrett Allen and 20222 unanimous first-team All-Rookie selection Evan Mobley to give the Cavs one of the most formidable young cores in the entire NBA.
Cleveland's lofty expectations were reflected in the annual NBA General Manager Survey, in which the Cavs were voted to have had the best offseason, and the most promising young core. Additionally, Mitchell was voted to be the best offseason acquisition by a team, with Mobley voted as the league's likeliest breakout player.
Tip-off between the Cavs and Raptors on Wednesday night is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
