CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers banner on the side of the Sherwin-Williams building has been a staple of the city for years.
Who could ever forget the iconic images of LeBron James stretching across the structure?
Now, a new image is set to grace the downtown scene in celebration of the team as crews began the installation process Thursday.
But what is the new design? The team tweeted a picture of it last week. Check it out below!
The updated banner has a simple message: “Four the Land.” Images of Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley in action fill the remainder of the banner.
It comes as the Cavs claimed victory against the Brooklyn Nets 114-113 on Wednesday night, which also marked the team’s first on-the-road win in a season opener since the year 2000.
The Cavaliers play their first home game of the season against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
3News' Austin Love spent Thursday morning reporting from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse with a look ahead to what fans can expect this season, which you can watch in the videos below -- including an epic three-pointer hit by in-arena host Ahmaad Crump.
Let’s go Cavs!
