REPORTS | Cleveland Cavaliers F Kevin Love won't be suspended for Game 2 of NBA Finals

After leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers bench in the final moments of Game 1 of the NBA Finals, there had been a belief that Kevin Love could have been suspended for Game 2.

There appears to be some good news for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the aftermath of Thursday's disappointing Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

According to several reports, Cavaliers forward Kevin Love will not be suspended for Sunday's Game 2. That had been viewed as a possibility after Love was spotted on the court during a heated exchange between the Warriors and Cavs near the end of the game, despite having not being checked into the contest.

Per NBA rules, any player who leaves his team's bench during an altercation will be suspended for the next game, without any exception.

Prior to the actual altercation, Love was already on the court arguing the referees' decision to eject Tristan Thompson. And once the actual shoving began, the 5-time All-Star did retreat to the Cavs bench.

Not having Love would have been a huge blow to the Cavaliers. Love had one of his best games of the postseason on Thursday night, scoring 21 points and pulling down 13 rebounds in the overtime loss to Golden State, who lead the best-of-seven series 1-0.

Game 2 of the 2018 NBA Finals will take place in Oakland on Sunday. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. ET.
