CLEVELAND — Tristan Thompson is reportedly returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers on a one-year deal for the 2024-25 season.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Cleveland Cavaliers President Koby Altman and Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul are finalizing an agreement for Thompson.
The 33-year-old spent the 2023-24 NBA season with the Cavaliers, averaging 3.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Thompson played in 49 games for the Cavaliers last season.
During his NBA career, Thompson has spent 10 of his 13 seasons with the Cavaliers.
Thompson first joined the Cavaliers in 2011 after being selected as the No. 4 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He stayed with the Cavaliers until 2020, when he left for the Boston Celtics.
He returned to the Wine and Gold last season after having stints with the Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers.
In January, Thompson was suspended for 25 games for violating the NBA anti-drug program after testing positive for two banned substances: ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033.
