CLEVELAND -- Two fans showed up at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday night wearing GOAT masks, a nod to LeBron James' status as the 'Greatest of All Time.'
After the game they witnessed, it'd be tough to argue with their claim.
James enjoyed another a masterful playoff performance against the Toronto Raptors, scoring 38 points, dishing out 7 assists and grabbing 6 rebounds. The 4-time MVP, however, once again saved his best for last, sinking a game-winner runner at the buzzer to give the Cleveland Cavaliers a 105-103 victory and 3-0 series lead.
James' buzzer-beating game-winner was his second of this postseason, after he also hit the decisive shot in the Cavs' Game 5 victory over the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Just as he did after that game, James leaped on the scorer's table at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday to celebrate with the raucous home crowd.
Moments earlier, it appeared the Cavs wouldn't need James' late-game heroics. After entering the fourth quarter with a 14-point advantage, Cleveland slowly saw its lead slip away, with Raptors rookie OG Anunoby tying the game with a 3-point basket with 8.8 seconds left on the clock.
Fortunately for the Cavs, that was more than enough time for James to advance the ball the length of the court following a timeout. Hopping off one foot, James drained the 9-foot basket, putting the Cavs one step closer to the Eastern Conference Finals and the No. 1 seed on the brink of elimination.
