The car that nearly cost LeBron James his high school career can soon be yours.

According to Darren Rovell of ESPN, James' 2003 Hummer H2 is going up for auction on Monday, via Goldin Auction. The final sale of the car will occur on Dec. 8, with its price tag expected to reach six figures -- at least.

Even before he first suited up for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Hummer H2 became a part of James' lore. After the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary star received the car as a gift for his 18th birthday, an OHSAA investigation into James' eligibility ultimately found that his mother, Gloria, took out a $50,000 car loan to purchase the car.

Although the ruling allowed James to return to the court for the Fighting Irish, his high school eligibility later came to an end after it was found he accepted a pair of throwback jerseys as gifts from a Cleveland clothing store.

Months later, James was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cavs -- but not before signing an unprecedented $90 million endorsement deal with Nike. His first signature shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Generation, featured a chrome-like plate on the back heel -- an ode to the Hummer's sleek design.

This isn't the first time James' former vehicle -- which was outfitted with a custom sound system and TVs -- has been made available. According to Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver, it was also sold via eBay in 2013, with a 'Buy It Now' price listed at $64,800.
