LeBron James: 'Me getting ejected was best for the team'

LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers argues after being ejected in the second half by referee Kane Fitzgerald #5 while playing the Miami Heat at Quicken Loans Arena on November 28, 2017 in Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland won the game 108-97.

After what he thought was a missed call in the third quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers' 108-97 victory over the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, LeBron James was angry. So angry, in fact, that the Cavs megastar earned the first ejection of his 15-year NBA career.

On Wednesday, however, James appeared to be in a much better mood. Posting to his UNINTERRUPTED video platform, the three-time NBA champion shared his thoughts on being tossed from a game for the first time in the 1,082 games that have made up his NBA career.

"I believe the reason we won last night is because I've been a huge distraction to the team and that's why me getting ejected was best for the team," James said as Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls played in the background.

James, who scored 21 points and recorded 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals in 28 minutes of action before being tossed, was of course joking. He also took to Instagram on Wednesday to label the colorway of the Nike LeBron Soldier 11 shoes he wore on Tuesday night as "The Ejected Game."

In addition to making light of his ejection, James also talked about his team's winning streak, which was extended to nine games on Tuesday night.

"The players are just getting more and more comfortable with one another. Adding seven new guys to a new team is difficult. Early on we saw that," James said. "I just think we've been getting better with every road trip, every game and it's resulted with us with winning nine straight."

James and the Cavs will look to extend their winning streak to double-digits on Thursday when Cleveland hosts the Atlanta Hawks for a 7 p.m. ET tip.
