CLEVELAND — In what marked one of the most highly anticipated moments of the weekend, the NBA honored its 75th Anniversary Team during halftime of the 2022 NBA All-Star Game at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Sunday.
In a ceremony reminiscent of the 50th Anniversary celebration -- which took place during the 1997 All-Star Game in Cleveland -- each player from the 75th Anniversary Team was introduced, with many of them on-hand for the celebration. Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson were among the living legends present for Sunday's ceremony. Jordan was the last player introduced and received a massive ovation from the fans in attendance at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Director Spike Lee introduced Sunday's halftime ceremony, which also included presentations from actor/comedian J.B. Smoove, actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish, singer Usher and a narration of the league's history by actor Forest Whitaker. Earth, Wind and Fire capped the ceremony with a performance.
