On Sunday, Vanessa Bryant posted a beautiful illustration of her late daughter Gigi in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
The post featured artwork from Reina Koyano, a Japan-based designer and illustrator. The work showed Gianna wearing her late father Kobe Bryant’s jersey and holding a basketball.
"Seeing my babygirl smile and happy again with a basketball 🏀 under her arm, wrapped in 💜💛love just warmed my heart. Thank you for this. @_vivalareina thank you!! My Gigi.❤️ #Mambacita"
Kobe and Gianna Bryant were among nine people killed in a helicopter crash in California last Sunday.
While Vanessa Bryant is reeling from the tragedy, she knows the other families affected by the accident -- the Altobellis, Chesters, Mausers and Zobayans -- are doing the same, and is doing her part to help in the healing.
In an Instagram post last week, she announced the creation of the "Mamba on Three" fund, which will go towards assisting the other families dealing with the same feelings of grief.
A description on the website reads:
The MambaOnThree Fund was created to honor Team Mamba’s mantra, “Mamba on Three.” It’s with that customary chant for togetherness, sisterhood and the ability to take on every challenge that this Fund was named.
The MambaOnThree Fund exists to honor and support loved ones of the seven other victims involved in the tragedy that occurred on January 26, 2020. All donations to the Fund will be directed to their families.
