TOLEDO, Ohio — Ryan Rollins had 21 points as Toledo stretched its winning streak to eight games, getting past Akron 84-76 Friday night.
Ra'Heim Moss added 20 points for the MAC-leading Rockets (17-4, 9-1 MAC), who shot 59% from the field. A 24-12 run stretching through both the first and second halves helped put the game out of reach.
Bryan Trimble Jr. led the Zips (13-6, 6-3) with 18 points. UA saw its own four-game winning streak come to an end, but maintained control of third place in the Mid-American Conference.
Akron will begin a stretch of back-to-back games against Miami of Ohio next Friday evening, with the first taking place at James A. Rhodes Arena.
