Destiny Leo scores 31 points, Cleveland State beats Purdue Fort Wayne 73-63 for 7th straight win

The Vikings remain in a tie for first in the Horizon League with four games left in the regular season. Their 24 wins on the season are also a new program-best.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Destiny Leo scored 31 points as Cleveland State extended its winning streak to seven with a 73-63 road victory over Purdue Fort Wayne Monday night.

Leo made nine of her 22 shots and five from 3-point range as the Vikings (24-3, 14-2, Horizon League) led by as many as 19 before the Mastodons closed the gap a bit in the fourth quarter. CSU also won the rebounding battle 52-30, with Amele Ngwafang hauling in a career-high 19 and Brittni Moore adding 13 along with 12 points.

Shayla Sellers tallied 21 points to pace Fort Wayne (10-16, 7-9), which dropped its third straight and shot just 18.2% from beyond the arc. Aubrey Stupp also scored 12 with seven boards off the bench.

With four games remaining in the regular season, Cleveland State has already set a new program record with 24 wins, and remains tied atop the conference with Green Bay. The Vikes will begin a two-game homestand this Thursday night when they host Northern Kentucky at the Wolstein Center.
