GREEN BAY, Wis. โ Tae Williams' 30 points led Cleveland State over Green Bay 76-65 on Thursday night, putting the Vikings in a tie for first place in the Horizon League with one game left in the regular season.
CSU trailed by four at the half, but Williams powered through with an additional 14 rebounds. Tristan Enaruna scored 14 points and added five rebounds, while Drew Lowder finished with 12 points for the Vikes (19-11, 14-5 Horizon League).
Davin Zeigler led the Phoenix (3-27, 2-17) in scoring, finishing with 14 points. Clarence Cummings III added 11 points for Green Bay. Zae Blake also had 11 points.
The season ends Saturday night in Milwaukee, where Cleveland State can clinch at least a share of its third straight conference title with a win. If Youngstown State also beats IUPUI, the two in-state rivals would finish tied atop the standings, but the Penguins would get the No. 1 seed in next week's Horizon League Tournament by virtue of a 2-0 record against fifth-place Oakland (the Vikings are 1-1).
Cleveland State has never won three conference championships in a row, and is guaranteed at least a first-round bye in the Horizon League Tourney along with a home game next Thursday at the Wolstein Center.
