Dustin Crum ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns and Kent State defeated Akron 38-0.
It was the third straight victory for the Golden Flashes (6-5, 5-2 in MAC play) in the annual "Wagon Wheel" showdown, with the two schools only separated by about 10 miles. The win also sets up a home showdown with Miami of Ohio (6-5, 5-2) for the Mid-American Conference East title in the regular-season finale next Saturday.

Crum had 104 yards and his two rushing scores by halftime. Marquez Cooper had 25 carries for 139 yards and a score for Kent State.
Akron (2-9, 1-6) turned the ball over twice and managed just 188 yards of total offense. The Zips have lost five in straight and both games since the firing of head coach Tom Arth, and will wrap up their season next Saturday against Toledo.
KSU also cliched bowl eligibility for the second time in three years. The Flashes were previously able to beat Utah State 51-41 in the 2019 Frisco Bowl for their first-ever postseason triumph.
